FRENCH LANGUAGE
SUMMER SCHOOL
This is a 5-day immersion course where you are immersed in French
life and culture. (6 nights accomodation).
Prefaucon Farm is our French language Summer School base: after
your French lessons you will put what you learn into practice by living
and eating with a French family, and learning about the French way
of life.
Prefaucon Farm is a working farm. Sophie looks after her 100 ewes, welcomes
guests and cooks very good local food, fresh from their garden. Jean-Louis
is the gardener.
Children are looked after by their own French language
teacher and have their own programme of activities and classes with
local children, each day, so they learn to use the French language
naturally.
Adults can help out on the farm! Or study the French
language with us, or follow their own program of walking, biking,
horse-riding, wind-surfing, paragliding etc. Or .... a wide
variety of craft courses are available, perhaps to complement your
French lessons?
Courses in pottery, felt-making, watercolour painting, painting furniture,
organic cookery, medicinal plants and “green” construction
techniques are all possible: all in French!

Where are we?
These courses are available in MENS.
This is the market town for the Trièves; a wonderful region
of rolling farmland and forests surrounded by the mountains of the
Vercors and the Ecrins. This is real France where you are unlikely
to hear English spoken.
The Trièves is home to France's most important "green"
centre - Terre
Vivante - and the ethos of organic farming and green building
permeate the region.
