FRENCH COURSES with HOMESTAY
(living with a local family)
You'd like to improve your spoken French, and you like the idea
of living with a French family?
The rural market town of MENS
(1.5 hrs from Grenoble airport and just 40min south of Grenoble)
is our Homestay base for our French courses. MENS is the market town
for the Trièves Plateau; a wonderful region of rolling farmland
and forests surrounded by the mountains of the Vercors and the Ecrins.
This is an immersion course where you are immersed in French village life and
culture and are able to enjoy the atmosphere and music in the cafés.
You will be encouraged to apply what you learn by living and eating
with your French host family, and learning first hand about the French
way of life.
The Trièves Plateau is home to France's most important "green"
centre - Terre
Vivante - and the ethos of organic farming and green building
permeate the region. Why not time your visit to coincide with one
of the local fairs?
French courses with homestay (or hotel):
You study 3hrs a day and your afternoons (or mornings) are free for
you .... a wide variety of craft courses are available, perhaps to
complement your French course? Courses in pottery, felt-making, watercolour
painting, painting furniture, organic cookery, medicinal plants and
“green” construction techniques are all possible: all
in French!
And popular sports include walking, mountain biking, windsurfing
& kite surfing, horse riding and paragliding. Courses in these
sports are also available.
Your accomodation in MENS could be with the local blacksmith, a local
sheep farmer (a woman), or in a local chateau. Our host families all
love the contact with students from other countries; and are passionate
about this region, their work, and local (organic) food.
